Susan E. Huffman concentrates her practice in the defense of personal injury and/or property damage matters. Throughout her career, Susan has represented insurance carriers and their insureds, as well as self-insured corporations and individuals, in a wide variety of matters. Susan’s experience includes defense of automobile liability, premises liability, employee liability, commercial general liability and commercial auto liability matters.
Susan has been admitted to the bar of the State of New Jersey and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey since 1990.
Susan is a graduate of Seton Hall School of Law. While attending law school, Susan also worked for several private firms, as well as a major insurance carrier’s staff legal operation. Upon graduation, Susan served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Thomas R. Rumana, J.S.C. (Civil- Passaic County). She then went to work for several private firms and insurance carrier staff counsel defending the carriers and heir insureds.
Susan is a member of the New Jersey Defense Association, Passaic County Bar Association and Bergen County Bar Association. She has been a court appointed arbitration for mandatory non- binding arbitrations in Bergen County since 1998 and in Passaic County since 2020.
In addition to her professional responsibilities and associations, Susan has been a member of the Paramus Scholarship Fund since 2005, where she has performed in numerous plays and musicals, raising money for scholarships donated to high school seniors in Paramus. She is an active member in the Paramus Women’s Club, donating her time to multiple community service projects and fund raising events. Susan is also a supporter/volunteer of the Lustgarten Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
